    As a former parent of small kids, I think I'm qualified to advise. I'd suggest adopting "active activities" with your family. You burn way more calories getting out and about than hanging around the house. It's great modeling for your child to see mommy and daddy be active.

    I used to

    Play an active game in the back yard

    Take a walk while my daughter was in gymnastics (or any) class

    Put my daughter in a baby jogger and go rollerblading on a bike path. (That was fun.)

    Put my daughter in the baby jogger and walk to do errands and/or go to the playground. While a the playground, I'd do my exercises. (Nowadays, I'd bring resistance bands.)
