I'm 37. 5'4 and weight 200. I was diagnosed last year with hypothyroidism and am on medication. Weight loss is a bit more difficult this time around. Any tips? 3 years ago I weighed 160 and was pretty active. Just started back at the gym this week, and eating right.

First, make sure your medication dose is right and your thyroid levels are optimal. Get your Free T3, Free T4 and Reverse T3 tested rather than adjusting by the TSH.
Next, expect your losses may be a little slower than you were used to pre-hypo. Count your calories. Get some exercise. Since you are hypo, your body might not burn calories at the rate MFP says it should so be cautious about eating all your exercise calories.
And I've found personally that my thyroid health suffers if I go too low carb. That may not be your experience; I try to eat a minimum of 100 grams carbs a day. Thousands of posters on MFP will swear up and down that if you count calories and eat at a deficit, you will lose weight. My personal experience is you may or may not lose weight depending on how your thyroid levels are, so get them optimal.1
