Good luck. Hope you're taking a multivitamin to compensate for no fruits and vegetables.

So you are planning to eat only meat and drink only water? Vegetables have carbs, cottage cheese and yogurt have carbs, fruit have carbs, etc... Maybe you should post in more detail what you really mean about " no carb." Just saying...

What multivitamin should I take? I am taking A-Z multivitamin. Is there anything specific?

@Gisel2015 I am gonna take lean meats like chicken and fish mostly grilled or cooked in olive or coconut oil. I am not gonna take the veggies which are high in starch or carbs . For fruits I am only sticking to berries and for veggies I am gonna take spinach, broccoli/cauliflower, kale and celery.

I've been doing this exact diet for over 4 months and have lost 57 pounds so far. For more good information on this kind of diet, check out: https://www.reddit.com/r/keto/

Is this a lifelong challenge, or only temporary? I'm trying to understand why you are doing it. Most people who lose weight and KEEP IT OFF use a sustainable method that they are able to continue with for a lifetime, since once you return to your old habits, your old weight usually returns as well. Good luck to you! :)

You should check out the low carb group. They regularly do challenges regarding limiting carbs. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group

@jenilla1 I hv been diagnosed with stomach ulcer. So I have been told to avoid many food items so I have to take care of it anyways. So I think it would be a life long thing. I wish .... fingers crossed. Thanks

That sucks. I also have a health problem that requires me to restrict certain foods. It's a challenge, for sure! If it weren't for the fact that certain things make me sick, there's no way I could give them up for a lifetime. Hope your new way of eating helps your ulcer heal! :D

Then you are going to go low carb and not "no carb."
Ulcers are sometime caused by H. Pyloris and can be treated with antibiotics. Has your doctor done tests to find out what caused the ulcer or recommend a GI specialist?
Good luck to you with what ever plan you are going to follow and I hope that you get better soon.

I know of people who actually do stick to a zero-carb diet. Meat, meat and more meat. By all reports, they thrive on that diet (although I hope they supplement with some sort of multivitamin -- there are essential nutrients that are necessarily missing from such a diet).

I do well on a 20g net carb/day plan. The principal benefit of a low carb diet is that it keeps you feeling full. I record every meal and I have a calorie target based on my height, weight and my metabolism, but the foods I eat are so satisfying that I find at the end of the day that I've consumed well below the target calories -- I have a natural calorie deficit without ever feeling unsatisfied. I don't get to eat a lot of things I used to love (bread, pasta, rice, etc), but I never, ever go hungry.

I've lost 24 pounds in 2 months and I've never felt better. Good luck!

@jenilla1 Exactly then you can understand how hard is it to avoid food you love. I am such a food lover and there
Is no way I could give up on the foods I love. It has been such a difficult path but I am determined to lose weight and make myself feel better. Hopefully I will succeed... fingers crossed.

@Gisel2015 thank you. Oh yes I went to colonoscopy and my doctor gave me omeprazole. But she did not recommend me anywhere else nor did she explained what caused it. She said this medicine will help me with my situation and if not she will arrange a meeting for me. I felt better for a couple of weeks but now I dint think this is helping me anymore. I am going to arrange an appointment with my doctor and will discus with her in detail.

@TPetey55 First of all Qudos for your weight lose. That is some brilliant dedication and amazing results for uour efforts. I hope I can lose some of my weight as well.
Before I started this challenge I used to eat vrwad 3 times a day but now when I have started my diet plan I am cutting down on breads, pastas, rice, noodles and all that kind of stuff.
If you have a certain way of eating and planning meals from last 25 years of your life than it is difficult to cut off or change your diet all of a sudden. So it leaves me craving for carbs and salty foods. But now it has been 2 days without that and I have survived it without giving up on my late night cravings.
Hopefully I'll be able to achieve my goals because here I am making big changes for my future and eating healthy.
I wish you good luck with your goals commitments as well!

Colonoscopy or endoscopy? Colonoscopy is done to detect colon cancer or other problems of the lower GI track. Endoscopies are done to investigate problems in the esophagus or stomach.

Actually H. Pyloris can be detected with a blood test, stool and sometimes a breathing test to determine if that is the cause of the ulcer. Please refer to the link from the Mayo Clinic, so you can have a better idea when you talk to your doctor on your next appointment.

@Gisel2015 Thanks for the information. And they performed both endoscopy and colonoscopy as I was vomiting three times a day for last couple of months . So they were thinking that it might b a sinister in my disgestive system. So after these and my blood tests came out then i was diagnosed with hiatus hernia and ulcer with inflammation. Now I am taking tablets 2 times a day and it is better with them.
