Significant calorie deficit from exercise?

Hi all,

I hope you are well, was hoping for a bit of advice.

Once you add up my calorie goal and daily exercise (I cycle 20k a day and swim for 30 or 40 minutes) my calorie deficit is well over 1,000. I'm hitting around 2,200 calories a day and don't often feel hungry outside of the occasional emotional binge wanting moments but, is that kind of deficit ok? I don't really want to eat more and I don't want to change my exercise. Would appreciate any thoughts.

I guess it all depends on your stats (age, weight, height), how you are feeling in the long term and how accurate your calorie burn is.

Are you certain that your binge-wanting moments are triggered by emotional events? When I string together a few consecutive days of 1000+ calorie deficits, I have unemotional unplanned unlogged binge-having days.

Check 2 things: One weight loss If your loosing a large amount of weight quickly then you should either cut back on exercise or increase intake. Two performance if there is a significant drop in performance (Your runs, swims or rides take longer.) then you are probably not giving your body enough fuel to perform. One simple suggestion would be a replacement shake. There high calorie, high nutrition and you drink it just to give yourself energy. Protein smoothies are easy to drink when your not hungry.

Your logging isn't consistent enough to determine whether you're actually having 1k+ daily deficits. Over the last 31 days, you've logged food for 19 (68%), and of those 19, 11 (69%) had Quick Add entries.

Log accurately and consistently for a month before you worry about too large of a deficit.
