Sweet tooth

I have a terrible problem. I LOVE sweets and I'm trying to dodge them out so I can see true weight loss results. Unfortunately I love to get up in the middle of the night and that's when I crave something sweet. I've tried eating bananas to help the taste but that doesn't satisfy my taste buds. Any suggestions on what will help these cravings? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm curious to know how others deal with this same problem.

It isn't a stupid question at all. You don't need to dodge sweets! You can eat whatever sweets you like AND lose weight, you just have to fit them into your calorie budget. Even in the middle of the night...as long as they are accurately logged in your diary and you are sticking to your calorie goal, you will lose weight. I love sweets too and eat chocolate every single day and have lost 30 kg's. It is about planning and sticking to the plan. Life is too short to go without the things you love, and will likely result in non-adherence. Good luck!4

I also have a big sweet tooth. Today I bought fruit to make a fruit salad. I was also a little bad and bought clearance donuts, but I'm dispersing them somewhat. For my fruit salad, cut strawberries, add fresh blueberries, green grapes, drain a can each mandarin oranges and pineapple. Mix all together and let rest, preferably overnight so the flavors meld. It's so good!! I didn't even buy ice cream, and that's saying a lot! Ice cream is my weakness. That fruit salad will last a couple days.
Other things to try... Sugar free jello, sugar free pudding (I mixed mine with chia seeds last time and it was yummy), halo top ice cream, oranges, Greek yogurt, frozen bananas or grapes, a little chocolate milk made with sugar free chocolate syrup.1 -
I fit sweets into my day. My favorite sweet is Luigi's Italian Ice. They are 100-calorie cups of deliciousness.2

I use fruit as a substitute often- I love berries, so I try to have fresh berries to snack on after dinner. I also like Trader Joe's Freeze Dried Fruit (strawberries/mangos/blueberries) as they are unsweetened and just contain the fruit. I will occasionally get whipped cream or Halo Top when I am feeling super in need of sweets.1

I fit sweets into my daily calorie allotment. If you know you're a midnight snacker, save some of your daily calories for a sweet treat and you'll have no worries. I like Halo Top ice cream, Fiber One brownies, fruit with whipped cream or frozen fruit bars and fudgcicles.1

Thank you all for great insight! I think a fruit salad and maybe jello in the fridge is a great go to snack for when I crave those sweets. I have a goal to achieve and hopefully I can reach it! Thank you all!1
