I am full of cold. Literally coughing up so much crap and nose running or blocked or being blown. Ive not got a fewer but I feel crap and drained and throat sore.
I'm not sure why but over the last 8 months I have been on off like this loads. My little girl keeps bringing us illnesses from school.
During this time I've been dieting and I really try hard to control food in line with normal health days but when I'm like this all I want is carbs and salty chips! I don't give in 100% but my diet is crap compared to normal eggs meat fish and veg.
I don't know if I should just eat to speed up recovery and get back on diet faster or carry on as am just flipping a bit but recovery seems to take longer.
Is it just in my head that things like mc Donald's and pizza and chips help me get over virus faster?
Normally I eat 1200 a day but I'm

Any food is not bad if it fits on your daily calorie budget unless if you are trying to be way more healthy. Just eat in maintenance and if you're ready to take a deficit again do it slowly process by process :)

I go to maintenance when I'm ill, because when I have a cold I feel constantly hunnnnnnnnnngry. Like you, it's always salty chips and bread that I want.

It doesn't seem to have much effect on the scale afterwards, so I assume the reason why I'm always so hungry is because I actually do need more food.

I usually lose my appetite when I'm stuffed up but when I do want food I tend to want salty/rich/spicy foods. You should eat a little more when your sick since your body will burn a little more calories fighting off the virus. Just aim for maintenance rather than loss until you get better.
