Should I be adding protein shakes to my diet? I see that most of the people I'm friends with drink the shakes before or after working out. What are the benefits?

Protein shakes can be a low cal way to get more protein in your diet if you aren't getting enough in what you are eating. Some people think protein shakes have some magical muscle building powers on top of that, but they don't :). If you are working out you want to make sure you are getting enough protein so that the effort isn't wasted, but a protein smoothie in a shaker cup has become a trendy badge of fitness for selfies and FB posts unfortunately.

I use my unflavored protein (whey or egg or hemp) as a breakfast meal. 12 oz. unsweetened coconut milk; 1 TBSP ground flax or chia; 1 teasp Moringa powder; 1 teasp L-glutamine; 1 scoop Vitamin B complex; 1 teasp psyllium; 1 scoop Konjac root; 1 scoop partially hydrolyzed guar gum (PHGG). It tastes like wheat-a-bix; and is very filling and is under 275 calories.

That's a good question the real simple fact is u have to try a few brands and see what works best for you if u have a really good health food store buy u they will have where u can try different flavors of ones probably 95% of people use water to mix it up in again try a few different ways water milk soy milk almond milk etc. you can make your own too look up protein shakes there are a ton to drink from
