Should I be worried if I'm not meeting the "fat goal?"

I make a concentrated, diligent effort to hit my protein, at least .8/1 g per pound of body weight, especially right now since I'm pregnant. I let the other macros fall where they may, but I have noticed that on "good days," days I feel full and happy and eat good, nutritious food, my carbs and protein are high and I never meet the allotted fat goal. I just find fat to be less satiating. I'd rather put 2 tablespoons of PB2 on my yogurt than cook my egg whites in a tablespoon of butter. My husband says I should be eating more fat, but that would mean in general I need to eat less food, which makes me oh so sad.

Your diet works! Don't mess with it. Me, the fats really help. I have to watch them of course as they add up so quickly.

How under are you in your fat consumption?

Our bodies need good fats for so many reasons, and if you are significantly under google why our bodies need fat, it may help you decide to consume more.

When I was on WW they asked we have a tablespoon of oil/fat a day. That was the minimum. That's not a lot.

I would say I get an average of 45 g a day. Including some fish oil capsules.

How much fat are you eating? I'm presuming you'd be eating at least at maintenance during pregnancy so slight under your goal may be sufficient....

In terms of fat, I try to choose "edible" fats, stuff that adds some volume, instead of cooking fat or oil. Nuts, avo, whole eggs etc are more satisfying to me...

Yes, I am eating at maintenance and eat back all of my fitness pal's estimated exercise calories.

How many grams of fat would you get daily? (on average)

Probably on average 45 to 50g Per day.

On the days I get more, it's usually because I had a "bad day" and ate too much junk food. Which always has the result of making me feel worse, plus it's not good fat either.

A good guide is about 30% of calories in fats. So if on 1500cals its about 50gms fat.

If doing lowish to moderate carbs you probably need to up the fat intake.

Egg whites are so sad by themselves include a yolk for an extra boost of fat and vitamins.

For example, this morning I made myself a big scramble of egg whites with vegetables and deli meat, I did add some cheese, but I had the choice between adding an extra egg for 70 cal or eating it in a wrap for 60 cal and the wrap just sounded so much better!

Why add a whole extra egg... Why not just add a yolk? Use less whites?

Id be aiming for slightly higher fat if I was trying to grow a person. Fats are so important for us, I'm sure they're vital in foetus development too!

    How much do you weigh?

I believe the minimum is .35 grams per lbs total body weight...
