Received the nicest compliment

Yesterday I went home with my husband to visit my parents and attend a party to celebrate my dads law firm being in business for 40 years! So far I have only lost 11 pounds and I honestly cant really see it, however I feel SO much better. I had several people comment on how happy I look. And I thought that was one of the best compliments that could be given. I know there are a lot of threads on everyone saying how much more attention they receive after they lose weight, and I think a big part of it is because of the confidence you have, and the happiness you emit.
Whats the best compliment you've gotten on your weight loss journey?

Someone introduced herself to me at the gym yesterday, saying she'd been talking to a mutual gym-friend about how athletic and dedicated I was, and just wanted to talk shop. In her mind, I was an athlete, not a wanna-be. She didn't view me as overweight (which I am), or obese (which I used to be). This is exactly my goal: to view myself as an athlete. It's really nice to hear that others already see me that way.40

Went to my kid's doctor for her annual well-check and the pediatrician looked at me and said, "wow! You look terrific! Have you lost weight?" I told her I had lost 20 pounds. She asked what I was doing and I said just exercising and being careful about what I eat. She nodded knowingly and said "sounds like all the right stuff."
That was pretty great.23 -
"you're the most athletic person I know!" was an amazing compliment to me since I never did sports or set foot in a gym till this year and now apparently it's part of my reputation!14

When I was nominated and inducted into our town's "Wall of Fame" for my running. (marathons, Boston Qualifier and ultra runner) That was pretty special as I was always known as the one that tried hard, but was never good enough to make the team.16

"You're an inspiration to everyone in here"-the guy next to me on the treadmill in the gym19

A woman I knew growing up (she had been my Destination Imagination coach, her son was a close friend of mine, etc., etc.) recognized my twin sister, said hi, and asked who her friend (me) was! I could not stop laughing and she kept apologizing, as if being unrecognizable wasn't a compliment8

I got the best laugh from "Hi, Ann - It's been a while since I've seen you . . . and I think I'm seeing less of you than last time?" I also enjoyed my college room-mate (whom I hadn't seen in 30 years) saying "I see you've been able to keep the weight off, unlike most of us." (I told her the truth, with photo evidence.)8

My friend told me she was jealous of me but also said she was proud of me, I have only lost about a quarter of my goal but still made me feel great, that my efforts are paying off!5

"holy hell girl where did you go??"6

After working 6 months on a different job site, I came back to my main site 50 lbs. lighter. One of my co-workers, after seeing me and being inspired, started a "biggest loser contest" at work. It was such a hit, about 25 people joined the first round, and then he kept the contest going for years to come. He was an awesome guy, and inspired a lot of other people to be their best. I was floored when he told me I was the one that made him think he could make a difference.11

I'm bad at receiving compliments because I feel awkward and don't know how to react, so one time stood out for me because it was funny it diffused my awkwardness. I got together with a college friend after 11 years of not seeing each other. He's let himself go a bit and I was always morbidly obese. He was the group's jester, the kind of a guy who excels at physical humor, and apparently that hasn't changed, because when he saw me he said "where is the rest of you?" then bowed comically and said "please show me your ways!".7

Like another poster, mine was "I'm proud of you, Mom."6

"Damn, girl! Look at you repping all that weight!" -- From a big, muscle-ly guy at my gym. Feels good, man9

I can relate to this. I've always tried to merge into the background, hoping that no-one will see me so that I don't have to respond.
That's changed a bit now, but I still struggle with knowing what to say to others so I just respond with "Thanks, that's nice of you to say so." or similar.
Recent compliments?
My daughter's tutor from last year said that I was looking fantastic.
My DH just now when I asked him to move so that I could get past, said "You're skinny enough to get through that gap".
I really have issues with spacial awareness these days . . . maybe that's why I still park my car miles from everyone/everything else so that I can get in/out of it8 -
