Hi all, I travel constantly for work. I do quite well despite eating out constantly, but my biggest dilemma is packing snacks for long travel days (normally between 7-13 hours).
Any advice on how to stay eating healthy?

When I travel I buy my usual healthy snacks and weigh out portions in baggies. Nuts, berries, snap peas and carrots are all easy and portable. If I am driving I place this in a big bin in the passenger seat so they are easy to grab. I also have bananas and apples in there. Some other snacks I have packed are kind Granola bars, air popped popcorn and 1/4 cups protein granola. It is a bit of work but will save you money and be healthier in the long run.2

I take a big bag of protein bars whenever I'm traveling. Take a few more than you think you need. They're great if, for example, I get delayed both getting into and getting out of LAX, and so I'm sitting around waiting but can't actually leave the gate area to go get lunch. Not that I'm bitter or anything.1

preportioned things. If you're looking for satiety, I'd suggest a 200 cal protein bar or 200 cal of nuts in a baggie. If you want something to munch for something to do, go for something light like popcorn, celery, or cauliflower.0

I travel 5 days a week, every week. My trick is to always have snacks in my bag in portions so I have no excuse to make poor choices. I have nuts in 100 calorie portions (buy them pre-portioned or bag yourself before you travel) and raisins in 80 calorie boxes. I like "that's it" bars too and you can often get them in an airport or service station if you find yourself stuck. Low calorie pop corn is another go-to. I like Pop Chips too, they taste like a naughty treat but are only 100 calories a bag.
If I have to eat out I go for sushi, avocado roll is my go-to. Avocado is high in calories but there's not too much in an avocado roll and it's good fats.
I try to stay in a hotel with a kitchenette or failing that a microwave and make meals (heaps of veggies) myself as often as I can.0
