I start yoga class on Tuesday for the first time. Can anyone share their first yoga experience? How'd your body feel after the first day? My class is only one day a week for an hour. What did you find most beneficial about the class?

I recently started doing Yin, where you have maybe 10-15 poses in an hour long class, holding each one for an extended period. I find it very relaxing.

More active versions are going to be different.

I've been doing yoga for over 8 years, every class and yoga teacher is different. What type of class is it? If it's at a gym or studio and just labeled yoga, it'll probably be a vinyasa/flow type class. The teacher will give you alternative poses or you can use blocks. You can even let them know it's your first time and they will give you extra cues to help. Afterward, your muscles will maybe feel "noodley", I'm not sure what else to call it... But if it was a good class I feel like noodles haha. Take it easy, be patient, laugh, have fun! Remember a smile is a yoga pose XD
