I need advice on how to get rid of belly fat

Hi, I am 5'10, 159 pounds and 20 years old. I've been focusing my summer on getting into better shape, so I've been watching what I eat and going to the gym often. I have been doing this for about 7 weeks and so far I've noticed that I am a bit stronger and more in shape (able to work out longer and harder). However, the one thing I really want to see a difference in is the fat around my stomach area. So far I have not seen a noticeable change and I feel like maybe I need to alter my diet and exercise routine. I drink plenty of water, do various types of exercise, drink lots of water, and typically eat about 1,500 calories each day. Is there something specific I should be doing in my workouts (like should I really focus on gaining muscle all over my body to burn fat, or should I focus more specifically on doing ab workouts?) Is there something specific I need to add or eliminate from my diet to help me?

Lift heavy weights. Eat adequate protein. Stay in a deficit. Have patience.

Unfortunately, we can't spot reduce. The first place we gain is typically the last place we lose. If you stick to your routine, it should shed off eventually.

You can't spot reduce. What you can do is maintain a deficit to lose body fat overall and lift weights to make sure you keep your muscle and lose just the fat. Be patient.

There is no way to simply get rid of "belly fat". Spot reduction doesn't exist.

What you can do is eat healthy and exercise regularly to remove the fat from everywhere on your body, and your belly will shrink in turn.

I always have my clients stay away from white flour, white sugar and potatos. Get your carbs from whole grains fruits and veggies. I have clients losing up to 3 inches from their tummies in weeks time.

Lifting weights and doing workouts like 30 Day Shred or interval workouts make the biggest difference in my belly. I can jump around doing cardio all the live long day and it doesn't make it look much better.
