Switching between time zones

I've just flown from the UK (GMT) to Chicago and will be finishing up in Fargo, ND at about midnight (Central time). Which means my "day" has been about 36 hours long. How on earth do I make it work with MFP?
I've reset the time zone in MFP to Central but its given me an extra day. Do I get a whole new 1200 calories? That seems wrong. Any advice from frequent travellers?

I have never worried about it. I go west coast Canada to the UK and back often and just eat to the time zone I am in. If I find I want to add or skip a meal I will knowing it will all even out in the end.
