Lower than 1200?

I'm currently trying to lose weight (2lbs a week for now but will go to one hopefully once i've lost a little.) The only thing is, MFP has me at a 1200 calorie goal already. I feel like I can manage this, however my concern is once i lose the weight, will it recalculate and go lower than that? And if not, will I stop losing? Unfortunately i'm disabled so any exercise beyond say 10 mins of walking at a time is mostly out the question.

It will never give you less than 1200. Your goal loss rate might be kind of aggressive if that's what it's giving you.5

I didn't think it would, because one day I was a little under my calories and it wouldn't show me the "if every day where like today..." estimate.
I'm at about 186 lb at the moment and wanted to get to about 120, so quite a bit. so i thought 2 pounds a week for a month or two would give me a nice head start, but I am concerned eventually it will just stop working. Is this possible haha?0 -
If you are on 1200 your weight loss will naturally decline as you get closer to your goal.
Have a play with your numbers in the goal section to see the different weights and calorie goals it will give you while you are losing.
Depending on your height and weight 2lbs a week may not be realistic, or even though you have requested 2 lbs a week you may not have calories available to be that aggressive as MFP will not go under 1200.

Thank you. Maybe I should consider just going slower then, because I'd hate to stop losing regularly too quickly, so it would be rather off putting.
I'm 5 feet 3 inches and 186lb so not sure how aggressive it is really.0 -

Well, you have under 50 lbs to lose so 1lbs a week would be ideal. You could carry on at 1.5-2lbs for your first 10lbs then adjust it after that.
Not sure what your disability is, but even getting in a couple of 5 or 10 min walks a day will help keep your daily activity level up. There are a lot of seated exercise routines on YouTube if doing anything like that is possible. Just a few min here and there will help.
You may want to look at your protein levels too. I know you are not trying to build muscle, but getting .6-.8g a day will help you retain the muscle you have even when not exercising.
