is Taking supplements and drinking protein shake still effect if you also drink beer,wine or hard liquor?

Haha I was just having this conversation with my mate today. I'm a smoker & I drink spirits maybe 2x a month. Additionally I use protein shakes & a varied range of supplements. Does it cancel out? Who knows,. It could be purely a placebo effect but hey I still do it anyways :blushing:
