I found myself with some major life changing events. Suddenly at 45 years old I was single again. My 2nd husband had been cheating me for quite some time but I just couldn't face going through a 2nd divorce. Time and circumstances made it inevitable, I had no other options but to divorce him. Both of my children from my first marriage were now grown and had joined the Air Force. I was extremely proud of where my kids were in life but now, what to do with all of my spare time? My self-esteem was at an all-time low, i was 40 lbs overweight and at 4'11" that put me in a size 12 and obese.

After watching my twin sister transform her body and compete in her first bodybuilding competition I thought to myself what better way to keep my mind distracted and finally after 20 plus years, I could focus on myself. So, I hired a coach and signed up for my first Bikini Fitness Bodybuilding Competition. One of my key components was to track my food in myfitnesspal.

Little did I know how much that would not only transform my body, it transformed my life. I completely changed my eating habits and never missed a day of working out for 8 months. I never cheated on my nutrition plan. I lost 40 lbs and went from a size 12 to a size 0! I am now healthier, fitter and more confident than I have ever been in my life.

After my journey i was approached to write a book about what I had learned. I thought know way, I am not a writer! But, after some thought I said "why not?!" As of today I have now published four books! "The 70 Second Difference", "The SSASS Workout", "The ISO90 12 week Fitness Course" and "Fitness on the Move"! All co-written with my new and wonderful husband Brian Sterling-Vete.

Never give up hope! I was at my lowest possible time in my life, my father's death, financial problems, divorce, lost my job of 8 years, and instead of feeling sorry for myself I pushed through the pain. I hope my story can inspire other people to not give up hope.

Thank you for reading and add me as a friend on here!
XOXO
Helen Renee

Wow congratulations on turning your life around! Very inspiring. I plan on starting to compete as well in about a year or so. Will be needing to find a coach as well
