Burning Fat

I need advice on the healthiest way to burn fat. I have high cholesterol so I am concerned about doing any kind of low carb dieting. Also, I am looking for a life style change not just a diet.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The healthiest way to burn fat is to consistently consume fewer calories than you expend. Period. You don't need a low-carb diet, there's nothing magical about it. Just eat a well-balanced diet containing the foods you like.5

Exactly this.
Look at what you eat now, figure out ways to cut calories that would be painless/improve the diet, don't make the perfect the enemy of the good, and if your diet is nutritionally lacking think about adding in what it is missing. Oh, and log, at least for a while, as it is quite educational and helps you know that you are eating at a deficit.3
