Hey guys my Oh came home from work with an exercise bike! As much as it's a bloody eyesore I really need to loose weight but I'm so self conscious I hate working out in the gym & I have no friends who are sahm so I figured I'll use it during nap time.
Q - is it possible to loose weight using an exercise bike? I'm thinking of doing 30-1hr on number 5 (to begin)
I'm ok/good with food intake and have no problem keeping an eye on what I eat it's just I have zero motivation to work out.

to loose weight you just need to eat less calories than you burn, but if you add working out to that, you can eat slightly more (MFP is based on the idea of eating back workout calories)
but you have to want it - you need to find the motivation in yourself - personally I'd start off with no more than about 30min - if you haven't ridden in a while (or at all) - it will take some getting used to0 -
As above, weight loss is all about a calorie deficit.
And you might want to start slow and work your way up.0 -
Riding a bike is a great way to burn more calories and it is good for your health. Unfortunately, a stationary bike is very boring. I use Zwift for my indoor riding. That helps prevent boredom, but they are focused more on turbo trainers and smart trainers. Their support for stationary bicycles is very limited.1

I have my Kindle mounted to my handlebars. Netflix does wonders for defeating the boredom.0

bike riding can be a very effective way to lose weight. and i agree with starting slow rather than burning yourself out, which can cause a loss of motivation.0
