Promoting Subway sandwiches

Promotion of pseudo-science like this is malpractice. This company should be ashamed of itself.
Maybe hospitals should start giving away free cigarettes now too.

I have no idea what you're talking about, but Subway sandwiches are not bad for you. What do you think is so bad about Subway sandwiches?
Oh, and another thing, it isn't malpractice. If you're talking about this website, they don't practice medicine.18 -
Are you talking about the ads you are seeing? Those are thrown at you by Google, usually based off key words in your web searches or pages you visit. They aren't chosen or controlled by MFP.
And there's nothing wrong with having a Subway sandwich every once and awhile. Certainly no parallel to cigarettes at least10 -
Ummm what? Most Subway sandwiches are very healthy and fall within most people's calorie goals for one meal. My husband and I go every Friday and I make it work with my very low calorie (1200) diet easily...I don't understand what the issue here is?6

Adverts are based on your browser history...7

There's nothing wrong with a quick sandwich place. This thread seems like a bit of an overreaction. Comparing a sandwich to cigarettes? Really?
And I'll never understand why internet ads get some people so riled up.
Getting a lot of use out of this link lately: http://gizmodo.com/how-online-ads-work-153062788113 -
Sandwiches are pseudoscience?
Besides, if it isn't a 6 inch meatball sub on Italian herb and cheese bread with parm and fresh mozz, I'm not hearing it.12 -
Good point about the ads. OP, if you don't want to see the Subway ads, quit googling them.7
-
Lol...Subway sandwiches = cigarettes...Ermahgerd...
At least that's a new one though...8 -
i pizza sub now i'm hungry3
-
I was already considering subway for lunch....this just confirmed it9

I almost had it for dinner last night but I chose Penn Station instead4 -
I'd rather see Subway ads than the "banana wine stopper" ad I've been seeing for the last couple weeks. I thought about snipping a pic, but you guys can google it for yourself.2

Damn, that sounds good. Can I vicariously eat one through you?
If it weren't for the calories and the sodium and the fact I'd scarf that sandwich down so fast I'd have indigestion for a week, I'd be good to go for a real one.1 -

I am afraid of googling that word combination.7 -

I took the plunge.
Uh, good price?2 -
Since we're on the topic of ads, this is a wonderful site if you are logged into Google: https://www.google.com/settings/u/0/ads
You can clean up your interests so you see more ads related to you. I've gotten my so tailored that now I kind of like the ads. O.o Lots of makeup, video games, and shoes. It's not perfect because it's Google-only so if the advertiser is using a different ad server, it may still show unrelated ads. However, because Google AdWords (along with Google-owned Doubleclick) is pretty dominant, it will cover the majority of ads.
Clearing your cache and cookies can also help to "refresh" ads if you've been searching on pages as a one-time deal for like your mom or something, but you keep getting blown up with ads your mom would like, but not you.
Long story short, this guy should try clearing out "fast food" from his ad preferences!5 -
At least you didn't get the Starbucks ad everyone else has been complaining about lately.1

well that and subway is one of the few places at work with semi-decent food...the rest is highly suspicious at times1 -

I don't think Subway is anywhere near as wonderful as they advertise it to be - welcome to the world of fast food. If they would offer "real chicken" (like a plain chicken breast) instead of those processed rubbery spongey thingies, that would be a step in the right direction.6

I'm triggering Jersey Mike's!5

Not a clue what you are referring to......
This is a matter of degree. Are Subway sandwiches the worst fast food you can eat? Not even close. Are there things on a Subway menu that are better than others? Of course.
I don't expect absolute truth in advertising. That's just not realistic.1 -

Hee hee... also based on your browser history :P4 -
When I start getting ads for chia seeds and protein powder, I'm going to post a complaint about how MFP is trying to shame me into eating better7

You'd think. But I don't drink wine, and have never done a search for wine or wine stoppers...1
