How many calories do you honestly believe you burn as a massage therapist?

Are you a therapist? Have you been tracking your intake on MFP accurately? You can kind of get an idea from your diary.

Probably not as much as you'd expect.

Using my favourite TDEE calc: http://www.sailrabbit.com/bmr/

I would choose "Slightly Active, Exercise or Light Sports 1 to 3 Days a Week, Light Jogging or Walking 3 to 4 Days a Week (1.375)".

Assuming you're on your feet all day and exerting some effort in your arms, shoulders, etc.

I just choose "lightly active" as my status because I am used to the work, heart-rate wise. The physical nature of the job fatigues my muscles but I don't know that I burn many calories.

@johnw83 do you use a fit bit or such? What kind of massage do you do?

OP or other LMTs out there, feel free to add me as a friend. It's a unique job and I've always found it challenging to manage my fitness without overdoing my arms. Could use advice. Maybe a separate thread!
