Getting started again: Need some ideas

This past year I went on a high protein diet, lost 25 pounds ( I was 225 ) and felt great. However, my doctor started me on some weight producing medications because of an exacerbation of a chronic illness. I gained 25 pounds with intense cravings for carbs. He doesn't feel that it is in my best interest now to stop the meds since I'm feeling better.

I need some ideas to help me get started and motivated again. I like to read if anyone has some suggestions. Paleo is not something I'm interested in ( too much work ). I tend to feel full longer if I eat more foods high in protein and limit the carbs and fat.

I'm determined to fight this battle and would appreciate any help that you can give.

You can do this with watching portion sizes, stick to complex or low gi carbs, as well as protein and healthy fats which should help with hunger control, keep a mood and food diary and review every week with weight results to help work out what works for you
