This frustrates me so much. If it's just CICO then why is this chick eating all kinds of crap and is a stick??? I know she doesn't exercise and she drinks like fish all weekend long!
I'm fighting with my body sooo hard to lose weight and seeing everyday just pisses me off!
Rant over.
There's a lot of things that could play a part in this like medical issues (hyperthyroidism/Grave's), she could be lying about her workouts, etc., but I think one thing you're overlooking is that at 115lbs, she's probably eating maintenance calories. I know a lot of folks on here (particularly women, since the MFP default seems to be 1200 calories for them) eat 1200 calories a day to lose weight, but if she even walks for a half hour/45 minutes a day, her TDEE could easily top 2300/day. And that's assuming she's actually only the 115lbs you're guessing.
That aside, @_dixiana_ is right. Focus on you. Making apples-to-oranges comparisons to others based on notional assessments is only going to hurt you in the long run.
I agree with this - this could be maintenance for her.
There's another factor. I had a friend in high school who was really thin. She always wished she could gain weight. She never could seem to. She was 5'8" and 107, 108-ish pounds, IIRC. Anyway, a few times we had sleepovers and I remember thinking she could eat anything she wanted, but then I noticed something. She'd have, say, something fried and obviously a gazillion calories but she would just stop at a certain point - I NEVER stopped until that freakin' plate was empty, LOL. And then afterward we'd all have a snack but she just wouldn't feel like it. Then in the morning we'd make pancakes or something decadent and she'd only have a few bites, but obviously without even thinking about it. She was still full from "gorging" the night before...so her body just didn't signal her to eat. Period.
But then maybe for lunch she'd feel really hungry and appear to pig out again...etc., etc.
So IOW, she'd SEEM to pig out, but then just really, legitimately not be hungry later...and/or she'd seem to be pigging out but would only be eating a portion of the plate, and not all that fast because she'd be talking and so on in between bites, she wouldn't just be steadily gorging.
So really what I figured out was: she wasn't getting all that calories in a given day, ultimately. Nowhere near what one would judgmentally think just sitting around all sharing a big plate of nachos.0 -
I'm just tossing in my 2 cents here. There is also a woman I've worked with who is probably a size 0-2. She has had two kids and when she went home from the hospital, she went home in the same jeans she wore before pregnant. TINY WOMAN. Ate McDonalds, fries, ice cream, etc....all day long. I was envious....
Turns out she has some metabolic disorder and she CANNOT gain weight. The eating was because she is always TRYING to gain. Sure, it's nice being naturally thin, but she's constantly being told she needs to gain, she's too thin, she's so lucky to be able to eat whatever....etc. She tragically lost a child to SIDS and when she was distraught she lost several pounds...looked like a skeleton. Took a long time to gain it back.
No fun being her either.0 -

My two daughters are skinny 0-2... You will see them eat at one point in the day where you think they eat like that all day long.. they do not eat breakfast and hardly any dinner, the bulk of what the eat is during the day is grazing on food. Its looks like they hoarded food, they just graze.
Cannot judge one person they way the eat to another person, focus your energy back to you and never mind what others are doing around you, its easy to misunderstand what other are actually doing even with how they eat their food.1 -

You have no idea what she eats or doesn't eat outside of the office. Although she says she doesn't exercise, you have no clue if that's the truth or if she's active in other ways.
Instead of focusing so much on what she's doing and using that as a means to feel sorry for yourself, focus on what you're doing and the progress you've made.
You're not her. So it doesn't matter what she does.
