I have just started listening to and reading some of what this guy has to say. Does anyone here have an opinion? I realize that's a loaded question! I just want to get a sense of what this community thinks of the guy's stuff...

From what I can tell, he's basically just a guy. The biggest problem with people who like to draw generalized conclusions from personal anecdotal evidence is that there is a lot of variability in the normal population, so they will have a relatively narrow viewpoint. They also tend to be dilettantes who are more concern with self-promotion than anything.

Here are some of his more "insightful" statements:

    1. Diet is more important that exercise for losing weight.
    2. Most people do not have a "broken metabolism".
    3. For long term results, people need to change their relationship with food.

These piece of advice are offered hundreds of times a day by numerous random folks on MFP. They hardly represent a unique insight.

The rest of the stuff I read about (walking in the cold, vegan diets, etc) is just the kind of goofy stuff you would expect a dilettante playing around to do and say.
