More of a lurker than a poster here. 45 year old married mommy to 2 amazing kids. I started my journey on 23rd January of this year, also started MFP same day.
I'm 5' 2" and my starting weight was 151lb, and I have been unhappy with that number for many years, when I met my husband in 2005 and if I had to guess, I was probably barely 100lb back then, after having 2 beautiful children my body changed. For a while I was ok with carrying extra weight because I had 2 amazing little humans to show for it, but the last couple years as they get older (they are 10 and 7), I have realized in order to keep up, I need to be healthier, and this year was the year I decided to do something about it.
The first month was the hardest, it was a learning process, I tried fad dieting, The Boiled Egg diet, that was the worst week in terms of eating in my life, then I tried the Military Diet for 3 weeks, that was a bust, then I started reading here, and learnt so much. I now simply eat regular healthy food, with the occasional splurge, one thing MFP and it's community has taught me is that I do not have to starve myself to lose weight!
I'm currently having great success, well I consider it great. Since logging everything, I've managed to lose 22.5lbs, I have gone down a few sizes in clothing and I'm feeling fantastic.
Thank you to all who contribute advice, opinions etc as I have truly learnt a lot from you all. To all who post success stories and pictures, thank you, each one is another bit of hope that I will reach my goal.
