where to do for a weekend vacation??

I have Friday June 16th off and need to be back Sunday June 18th. I live in Minnesota, so there are tons of great camping areas here. But for once we want to go out of state. We went to mount Rushmore once to visit family before my farther-in-law got really sick. We did things when we were there. I've never flown before, is it possible to fly some place and be back before the weekend?

My wife and I typically fly from ABQ to San Diego for a long weekend about once annually. For perspective, it's about a 12 hour drive and about 1.5 hour direct flight. Obviously we fly for a weekend but with the expense, it's usually a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and we return Monday...but we could totally get back before the end of the weekend if we wanted to.

When we do this, our direct flight leaves very early in the AM...like 6:30 and we're to San Diego just after 7 AM so we have that entire day and then we fly direct coming home with that flight being mid morning so we're back to ABQ just after lunch.
