Been here about a week and proud of myself

Hello folks. I'm Dee. I'm new here. I joined just to get a baseline idea of my caloric intake to see why in the world I'm packing on the pounds...knowing good and well the chocolate and Gatoraid at work weren't helping any. :-)
Well, tracking became tweaking. I figured, "Oh, I'll just cut down to the calories reccomended and see if I can meet the guidelines." This became my boyfriend's kids getting interested in nutrition and actually *exercising*. A-MAY-zing! Oh, so next I thought, "Gee...if they can self-motivate and actually go for a RUN, I can do something." Oh, and eating that few calories is leaving me feeling hungry a lot, SO I did my first yoga session tonight. I'm so proud. :-)
It wasn't much, just a "Yoga for Complete Beginners" YouTube video of 20 minutes of mostly stretching, but I feel great and burned off a couple hundred calories between that and the moderately paced walk around the store I took earlier to burn off a good mad brought on by a misunderstanding between me and the boyfriend. Now I have enough calories to eat and actually feel like I'm not starving myself.
Just wanted to say "hi" and that I'm glad I joined and I'm proud of my first small steps.
