Hi all. Tom here.

I started taking my health/wellness seriously on 2/24 of this year when I walked out of a surgeon's office with the advice that I should lose a significant amount of weight before I have a hernia repaired to avoid a recurrence.

From there I joined a weight management program through my work which recommended MFP as a way to track calories.

Since Feb 24 of this year, I'm down 40 lbs and counting. BMI is still obese, but no longer in that morbidly category. I still have a ways to go, but I have hope...determination...motivation.

One of the hardest aspects of my journey was to incorporate strength training in my week. With a long commute to work, it was hard to 'find' time to make that happen. Happy to say that just yesterday, I signed up with a gym along my commute home and enjoyed a great workout there that afternoon!

I look forward to reading other's stories and sharing more as I progress.

Cheers all,

Tom
