Eating disorder / gaining weight

I'm trying to overcome an eating disorder, I'm constantly being forced to eat food and meals because I won't do so on my own. I'm underweight and I'm supposed to be gaining but my brain is telling me that I just need to lose more. I freak out anytime I eat anything and I try to avoid eating a lot besides when I have to, I always count calories, I work out whenever I eat a lot, I'm basically doing everything against what I'm supposed to be doing, which is eat calories and gain weight. Does anyone have any advice on how I can get myself to want to eat again and not have the mindset that I have?

Are you working with a treatment team?

Are YOU ready for recovery? I hope you are, Emma. It is going to take a little time to get used to this change, but each day gets easier. I promise.

I've been there. I understand. If it helps, it gets better. Talk to your support team and be honest about how you are feeling. They'll understand. The more you talk about your fears the easier it will become. I officially went through recovery in 1995 when I was 19. It was difficult, but looking back, I count it as a blessing. Don't give up.
