Big Life Change Ahead- Night shift!

My dear hubby is a sheriff's deputy and he was just told he's going to night shift, starting this weekend. (that throws our weekend plans out!)
My meal planning and meal times are getting thrown out the window. Hopefully my sanity won't follow! Last time he did this, he had trouble adjusting to the dietary changes. He'd wake up wanting breakfast/light meals when I cooked a regular supper or wanted something substantial when I made a light meal. If I want to eat with my husband, my personal meals will probably have to change, too.
This sucks and I'm dreading the next however-long-this-lasts!
Anybody have any words of wisdom for us?

How about meal prep? Get a week's worth of chicken/pork/beef cooked and ready to use in various ways. Then if he wants something light or heavy, it will be easy for you. Meals don't need to be big ordeals, I fix all of my meals in less than 30 minutes and I don't even have a microwave.2

Why can't you meal plan in advance? And reheat. I work nights and that's what works for me. And certain foods aren't for certain times of day. If you want dinner at "breakfast" what's wrong with that?1

Hubby and I are both cops. We've both worked night shift at opposite times. There wasn't much eating together, and if there was, the person on night shift ate whatever the person on day shift made. Or we made our own food.
If there are no kids involved, separate meals might be easiest while you find your new normal.0
