edited November 18 in Getting Started
I have been on here for a while now but today is the first day that I've truly done anything. I plan to keep this to my self a little in my personal life. But I started meal planning. And I was pleasantly surprised that although I was eating more for my lunch today and I am feeling more full, I actually consumed less calories. I have been working to keep at 10,000 steps a day. My ultimate goal is to get down to 150 and to just eat better and to have more energy. This has proven difficult in the past as I do not like vegetables or most fruits. I am attempting to incorporate more in my diet- but I also refuse to eat things I don't like. I'm just proud of my first day of my new adventure!!!

It's hard work to stay on the right track. It's my day 4. I'm committed to 30 minutes on a gym machine. I've stopped eating late and I've got lots of challenges to undo, that I hope will fix my broken body.

How long does it take to do 10,000 steps a day?

Awesome! little changes over time make all the difference. You sound like you've got it planned properly. Know there will be setbacks, you'll let yourself down, but it's alright, you'll stick with it and make it happen.

    Well done :)

Davidlee29 well I am in sales so it is not difficult for me to get more than 10,000 steps in a day. However I find when I am not working that it's more like 6,000. I think that it is more important to see where you are and start with small goals. Like if you average 5,000 steps a day shoot for 5,500. That has been much easier for me. I've also always loved walking. I find I can motivate myself to walk more than any other physical activity. I would say- take week by week. Add an extra 500 steps to your daily goal each week until you are up to 10,000.

Yes little changes make a big difference especially when you can build on them. I don't eat many veggies either. Never ate them growing up but I've found I love romaine and I love broccoli so I eat those daily. I love walking too and I think walking alone especially when I first started my journey helped a lot. Congrats on your new adventure

Days will go by faster than you can imagine and before you know it weeks and soon months will have passed.
You will feel better, look better and your entire mental attitude will have changed for the better because you will
Like yourself a little more each week. Yes it's a little tough but you get used to it and it gets a bit easier all the time. There will be
a few mess ups along the way...no big catastrophe, just move thru them. It's all SO worth it!.
Walking is an easy start, for me it's a low stress time to do good thinking and take the dogs out too. It will lead to other physical
    exercise as well.
Wishing you the best on this road and hope to see more posts.
