for 2 years i have been having problems with bursitis. i also have a cam impingement which led to labral injury and theses issues caused an issue with my knee.... the IT band.
i have undergone 6 months of physio in 2 separate occasions and just 1 week ago i became pain free!. very pleased obviously and will continue with the exercises.... i have been thinking though would my 23 lbs weight loss have helped with this?
my surgeon doesn't think the weight was the issue but just a few weeks ago i managed to get back to my pre wedding weight and this pain has just gone. i'm sure the physio played a big part but i'm sure extra weight off the area must help too?

Weight loss has helped my knee pain significantly. I have a history of multiple open surgeries to include ligament and meniscal replacement and cartilage removal in the same knee. It still hurts quite a bit when I workout, but the normal day to day pain is nearly gone and I'm only down 19 pounds out of 50. The downside is that while my knee pain has improved, I'm having a recurrence of bursitis in my hip at the same time :/. Hoping that clears up, as well....

Good for you. Often there are several factors contributing to pain. Can't say always as therrare exceptions but for the most part less weight is helpful for orthopedic issues. Unless the person is underweight
