low carb rice, grains, cereal

I do not wish to go over 100 total carbs a day, due to a health issue, but would love to have brown rice, grains or cereal or lentils, etc.. but they are usually 1/3 - 1/2 of my carbs allowed .. OK is there something I am missing in not eating them? I would like to include them but wow are they high in carbs. do you have any ideas about these food items? Been trying to read labels, seems like kidney beans might be lower in carbs. cereal - even the healthy kind - way too much unless its oatmeal or grits. (Cold cereal plus adding milk adds up quick) that's the only food item I am having trouble with.

Stick to portions sizes that fit your calorie and carb goals. You can still have them, just maybe not in the amounts you used to. I found it easy to give up cereal for breakfast, as I was never a big fan anyway. I usually have a couple of eggs and some Greek yogurt instead.1

Could also sub cauliflower rice2

I do lower carb as well, and I still eat rice, cereals, sometimes even pasta. I cut the portions in half and that usually helps. I eat lean proteins that I love (like grilled shrimp) and lots of veggies and allow for a little room left on my plate for carbs.0

found these noodles - called Miracle noodles. They sell them on amazon and at Wegmans.
Highly recommend. They have zero carbs, but fill you up and easy to substitute into your pasta recipes.

Yeah, the things you listed are high in carbs for sure. So you could either do smaller portions of them or sub them with something else like riced cauliflower, zucchini noodles, spaghetti squash, shirataki noodles, etc.
And no, you are not missing anything by cutting them from your diet. The body does not need carbs to be healthy - some people follow a ZERO carb diet and remain healthy. Fat and protein are necessary for your body and organs.1 -
Definitely second cathipa on the cauliflower rice. It is awesome...and super low calorie as well as carb. I use it all the time.0

You do not need rice, grains, cereals or lentils. The (limited) nutrients in those foods are easily found in meats, dairy, eggs and vegetables. As a celiac I am missing nothing from skipping cereals. I think I had lentils once in my life - didn't like them. Rice is often just used as a filler.... If you don't want them, you can safely skip them. I personally think some people's health will benefit from skipping those foods.
If you want to include them, use small portions. Rice can be 1/4-1/2 c serving. No need to go big.0
