Not losing weight

I am eating 1200-1300 calories a day according to MFP suggestiona for me. I've been going for over 3 weeks now and haven't lost a thing. I have gone down a little (up to 3 lbs) then right back up to where I was before. I am hypothyroid which makes it difficult to lose weight anyway. Any suggestions?

Are you using a food scale?
Are you eating back exercise calories?
Are you at that time of month?
How much did you have mfp set to lose?1 -
I don't know much about your condition and it pays to consult experts (or at least books).
Sounds like a reasonable calorie plan.
Are you getting any exercise? If you can add a little activity it might help things along. Doesnt take much, but getting your heart rate up every day can work wonders.
Just keep it up. Measure and weigh your portions carefully. You can't miss! Best wishes for success!1 -
I second the above posts, but just to add it takes me a while to lose weight on the scales when I start back up. It took me about 3-4weeks to finally see the numbers going down steadily. Give it some time...log as accurately as you can and you will see the results1

Thank you! I will see what I can find out about being hypothyroid and how that effects me. I am not using a scale (don't have one) and I am always at or just above/below my calorie goal each day as far as I can tell. I will keep at it and be sure to get in some "official" exercise too! Could be that "that time of the month" is right around the corner too, but the fluctuating is driving me crazy! When I don't see any results it makes me wonder why I'm doing this.0

Buy a food scale, weigh all solids and use measuring cups/spoons for liquids. Ensure you're using accurate database entries (double check packaged foods, and look for USDA entries for whole foods - eg search 'usda potato, raw'). It is incredibly easy to underestimate calories if you're not weighing and measuring, and many database entries are way off.
Also, weight loss is not linear. Hormonal fluctuations, higher sodium intake, increased or new exercise, all of these things can result in fluid retention. Fluctuations are normal. I suggest using a tracking app such as Trendweight or Happy Scale to log your weight, then you can see that even though the scale may have gone up, so long as your trend is downwards it's all fine.1
