Spinning to lose weight. What else should I do?

Hi there
Can I ask a quick question please as I'm not sure if I'm doing things correctly!!
I have been tracking my food daily using the tracker. I have lost about half a stone in around 6 weeks. I was hoping for a faster weight loss but I am now combining exercise. I go spinning 3 x per week Monday - Wednesday and every day I have been trying to walk 10,000 steps. ( I have always done aerobic classes but have only just over the past 2 weeks have been doing the above workouts, no other aerobic workouts). My friend said that I should be doing some form of weight exercises also (lifting weight) to aid weight loss. I want to lose 2 stone. Should I add in some weights in the gym, targeting specific areas or is it best to just do cardio workouts like I am and then work on weights once I have dropped some weight? I want to lose weight to get into a healthy bmi and 1 stone would do this. 2 stone would be my ideal. I am 37 and have found that I always diet, lose then gain again, which I don't want to do this time, I want to keep the weight off however I am really struggling to lose weight this time and I am worried that I am doing something wrong.
Any advice really would be greatfully received.
Many thanks

you're losing a little over a pound a week, to translate for Americans.
Mostly, you need to be patient. Adding strength training will help your health and help you retain muscle mass (which is very good long term). It probably won't change your rate of loss by much. You're losing at a nice rate for how much you have to lose. Keep on keeping on - this is the best way to lose it and not regain. You need to find the life you can live long term, rather than losing quick and then going back to normal and regaining.2 -
The great thing about weight training is yes,you can burn calories, and replace fat with lean muscle!!!!!!!Id like to be your friend!!!!!!We can do this together!!!Kathy0

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm 38 and weight just doesn't seem to come off me like it did when I was younger. I love a bit of spinning, and I've thrown in a couple of weights classes to help too.0
