Changes in diet

Just curious to know if anyone else has experienced an increase in gas and stomach issues when you first added salad and raw veggies to your diet.

Some people experience issues when they suddenly increase fiber so it's best to either introduce them more slowly or to wait it out for a bit. There is also the possibility that you may have a problem tolerating certain foods that you did not know you had until you introduced them in meaningful amounts, but my money is on the first possibility.
I have personally not experienced any such thing when I started dieting because I have not changed my vegetable intake, but I've seen quite a few topics about it, so it must be common.1 -
Yes.
When I thought eating around 2kgs of vegies (mostly raw, lots of broccoli, cabbage, kale, Cauliflower) I had the worst gut problems, and the worst digestion.
I've reduced consumption, pick carefully what I eat raw and cook stuff well. I also worked out that the broc/cauli/cabbage gives me issues in general - I limit those..1 -
I generally tolerate foods well. The raw veggies seem to be the culprit. Not painful and doesn't give me the runs just gas.0

I used to experience this. Recently I have added a lot of fruit and veggies to my diet and I'm surprised that its not affecting me this time like it has in th past. I think that is because I don't eat fat with the fruits and veggies. When I was vegetarian I was eating a lot of legumes, bread, also nut butters and olive oil. Probably the daily legumes and the fat with the veg may have been what made the bloating etc. Or the abundance of grains I was eating then might have caused it.
I use pureed veg. soup on my veggies sometimes or vinegar dressings.
I use non fat yogurt with the fruit once in a while. Mostly I just eat fruit on its own at this time of year there are so many ripe sweet fruit available.
I suggest you vary some of these things you eat together every few days and see if you can discover what might cause it. Also there is the possibility your body is just adjusting to the veggies and it will settle in within a few weeks.

Yep, a few months ago I really increased my veggie intake and had issues for about a week, (I also started eating beans every day as well). It calmed down on its own though and now I have no issues.1

I don't eat many salads or raw veggies in Winter but when lettuces are ready for harvest like now I eat a salad almost every day. I don't have gas when I add them. But I eat a lot of vegetables year round, it's just that they are mostly cooked if they aren't fresh picked.1

Exactly this. I've always eaten plenty of vegetables (raw and cooked) so have not experienced it, but it's common.
I also would increase raw veg (especially things like broccoli more than greens in a salad) more gradually than cooked. My sister has IBS and many raw veg can be triggers, although she has no issues with cooked veg.1
