I have gotten a few really ugly skin "things" (pimples? boils?) where the sun don't shine and I think it's from wearing sweaty workout pants for too long--I usually shower quickly after a workout but without boring you all with the details, it's taken me longer than usual to get to the shower after a workout. Anyone else get this and how do you treat it? I am going to make a dermatologist appointment but am not really looking forward to showing the doc these!!!

I get similar stuff on my chest under my sports bra. I think its from the dirty clothing as well. Perhaps a body cleanser with Salicylic Acid may help. Also for boils, put a warm damp cloth on it for a few minutes to bring down the swelling.

    1. Get out of your sweaty workout clothes as soon as you can, bacteria loves nothing more that a warm, moist environment

    2. You've probably got the adult equivalent to diaper rash, before you work out and after you've showered try applying something like Penaten or Zincofax. If you want a more "athletic" product you may also find that Chamois Butt'r helps (cyclists love it, a long hot ride with a pair of cycling shorts can generate a pretty swampy environment.....)

Show us some pics. It may also be your laundry soap.

Do you ride a bike? Could it be from rubbing on the seat?

No. Please do not post pics of your butt. Apply diaper rash ointment before you work out. Nuf said.

I spin a few times a week--and actually, this issue seems to have popped up after a CycleBar opened up in my neighborhood, so that's a likely culprit!

Thanks for the advice...I don't have new laundry soap so I am guessing it's just sweat and friction, and that I need to start stealing my teenage son's soap. Sparing you all pics. :open_mouth:

Make sure you're not wearing cotton.

Synthetic/moisture wicking/performance garments will go a long way to reducing your risk of irritation.

Aquaphor works well if the cause is moisture and friction from spinning or cycling. You can find it at Walmart and the Generic store brand works fine too. As mentioned above, Chamois Butt'r is also a very popular choice.
