Fat and 40, oops

Well my aim was to not be fat and forty but for some reason or the other I didn't quite get my act together for not being fat and forty so now aiming for not being fat and 41, ok will still be overweight by 41 but looking forward to the future.
Been calorie counting a week but only joined this site yesterday which to my horror I discovered I joined it in time to not be fat and 40.
Not quite sure how I got so big but in the space of a week I can 'kind of see' how I did.
No portion control, finishing off DD food and too many cosy nights in without exercise.
So far I'm enjoying the journey and finding it fairly easy, maybe it's because I have so many calories at the moment but feeling better in myself and looking forward to getting out running again (not that I run, more a jog but running sounds better :-) )
Sorry forgot to say looking to loose around 80lb and be healthier and this time next year I might be running around the park with my little family not just watching them :-)
