In 2010 I started to feel sluggish and not so great and the first thing I noticed that really made me take notice was that one of my eyes...my vision was starting to blur....well I went to the doctor and she seemed to know what it was instantly...I was diagnosed with Diabetes...my A1c's were 14.1...I know yikes. I immediately made changes and within 9 months had gotten my numbers down with diet and exercise to 5.6 and I felt so much better...I had even gotten my weight down to under 200lbs.

Then thing happen...lost my job as part of a company wide lay off...which kicks in all those worries about money and bills and supporting you family. I managed to get another job...but for some reason all these things just put me in a kind of funk where I just couldn't seem to get the motivation to keep working on my weight and health...and you could see the numbers reflect it. My A1c's went from 5.6 all the way back up to about 11.6...

After that last visit I just told myself..."Man...you have got to get your business together and get things under control again or you will be sorry". So that is what I am doing..

I started to get back into exercise...I am testing my levels multiple times a day...I am making changes to my diet and as a result in just about a month and half already...I am down about 10lbs...and my levels have come down from the low 300s/high 200s all the way to the mid 100s...big change...the app I use is estimating that my A1c is in the 8's now and I am hoping to have it back to at least the 7's by my next appt.

I have found it more difficult to get them back under control this time and I would like to hear from others what they did to get theirs back down to good levels...what kind of foods...exercise...snacking...it would be helpful to hear others stories...

Most of all I hope everyone is on track with their health and getting to where they want to be.

It's worth the effort! Congratulations on getting back on track. Isn't it odd how we are so gullible, and believe the little lie that comes into our heads that says eating whatever we want will make us feel better. It actually just adds to the misery, worry and stress.

I actually can't share numbers with you because I'm not diabetic. My mom was, and I witnessed all she went through. She would have more trouble keeping her blood sugar stable when she was under stress - probably something to do with elevated cortisol levels. Maybe that's what is going on with you?
