I am at the point where I have been maintaining my weight since last year and I still need to lose more weight. I now know how to maintain my weight when I get to where I want to be but here is the problem. I think my calories are to high now (1800 cal). How do I figure what my calories should be for my weight that I am at now? Any help will be welcome and thank you in advance. Cynthia

Are you maintaining on 1800? Simply create the deficit from there (or let MFP do it for you). For example, to lose 1 pound/week, you'd need a 500 calorie/day deficit, so your daily goal would be 1300 calories.2

If you do feel like 1,300 is too low for you (and it might be if you're closer to goal or you just want to eat more than 1,300), then you can try half a pound a week instead. That would be 1,550 a day.1 -
What @janejellyroll said Don't forget under the MFP model, you get 'extra' calories for exercise above what your basic activity level is set for. 1300 would just be the baseline. Only you can decide if it's 'enough' though.2

1,550 sounds more like I would get my nutrition that I needed. I might try 1600 and see what happens and if that is not working then I will go down to 1,500. Thank you all for your help.0
