The Ballad of Moon Moon

In the great white north, where the wolves howl and croon.
There is a sad tale told, of him known as Moon moon.

A day long ago,
on a night white with snow,
a white wolf was born to the pack.

He seemed strong and smart,
he would soon play the part,
as the mighty leader of the attack.


He quickly joined the crowd,
he could howl quite loud,
and always the prey he could fell.

But one sad day,
he lost his way,
and this was where things went to hell.


He jumped for a deer,
that he thought was quite near,
but instead he plowed into a tree.


He was taken aback,
His jaw went slack,
and down his own leg he did pee.



As he began to get older,
and braver and bolder,
something disturbing began to be clear.

For when the pups would play,
by night or by day,
it seemed that he wasn't all here.

He would hide in the snow,
and sideways he'd go,
as he strolled with an uncommon lilt.

His tongue would hang out,
he would randomly shout,
and he would stare with his head at a tilt.

Then one fateful night,
on a goat they did light,
and the pack circled in for the kill.

What happened next,
first made them quite vexed,
and soon made them really quite ill.

Moon moon led the charge,
on the victim he barged,
but he instantly pulled himself back.

For how could he slay,
such a hot little lay,
with that tail, and such a nice rack.

It was love at first sight,
on this starcrossed night,
As Moon moon expressed his strange love.

For he jumped on that kid,
his sausage he hid,
as he wore that scared thing like a glove.

the pack reeled in disgust
as he showed his new lust,
and they all pulled back in revulsion.

Poor Moon moon was wrong,
and couldn't last long,
so strong was the other's repulsion.

So now he is lone,
save the goat he does bone,
that is really too scared to run free.

They wander the snow,
like a strange freak show,
that is truly a sight to see.

And now late at night,
if the goats run in fright,
it might not be death that they fear.

For death has no hold
when the young goats are told,
that Moon moon the wolf might be near.
