Okay, so I talked to a couple of people about my macros on here. I let myfitnesspal automatically set them up. I'm supposed to eat 188g carbs, 75g protein, and 50g fat on a 1,500 calorie diet. Should I lower the carbs and up the protein???

Ya carbs are not as nutritious as protiens!!but carbs are required in more amount than the proteins in the human diet so no need to change it..but if u are working on weight loss diet than definitely reduce your fats!! Good day!

If you're a complete newb to all this, stick with what MFP is telling you. Asking on the boards is like setting a bomb to go off in your face lol!

There are many different ways to get there, for example, my macros are actually 70% fat, 25% protein, 5% carbs...

    Knowing your goals might help.

Calories are king for weight loss.

Macro goals (carbs/fat/protein) can help with health, energy levels, mood, satiety, and other things. But it's important to keep in mind that MFP's default goals for this are just one possible suggestion. They're a guideline, not a rule. You can eat in a lot of different macro splits and still be healthy and happy. It's okay to eat in a different way if it works better for you.
