What is so bad about diet soda?

If I'm not mistaken there is about 30mg of caffeine in a 250 mL glass (~8 oz). That be a large amount for an infant or toddler... Which unsurprisingly is why all caffeinated beverages have warnings for young children and pregnant women.
As for the artificial sweeteners... I'm not sure what more can be said. Anyone can use pubmed, Google scholar, and other tools to find countless studies for themselves.
I guess the story about your friend's cousin's kid who drank diet soda and developed epilepsy and/or autism is much more compelling0
