How to stay motivated

I've always tried to stay in shape and lose weight, however after a few weeks I give up and I go back to where I used to be. I don't know how to stay motivated. Any ideas?

You don't really stay motivated. You just decide, make it possible, and do. And keep doing. Losing and maintaining weight (and getting and staying in shape) is simple, but not easy. It will go on for the rest of your life. Make the best of it.1

Get a buddy. And when your buddy drops out, get another when that one drops out, bring in the first one again. Etc.1

Find a picture of someone with your goal body that has about the same shape as you do (pear, apple, triangle, hourglass, etc) and hang it somewhere visible. After a couple of weeks when you feel you need it just have a binge day. Eat everything you crave. One day won't destroy your diet. Afterwards honestly ask yourself whether you really want more junk food or if you want to work towards this body that will last a lot longer than those couple of bites and feel permanently great in and proud of. Try to really imagine having that body. This is what works for me at least. I hope you will succeed in the future. Good luck!2
