Depends on your need. Do you need waterproof (Garmins), the social aspect (FitBit) and what sports are you doing?
I like the Garmin VivoActive.0 -
I had many fitbits, and they all died in less than a year. I liked many aspects of them. They are affordable, very easy to use, have great customer support (for a year), great software (phone and web), good for monitoring incidental steps, walking, running, or hiking. Even worked for the elliptical. Not good for cycling, swimming, or weightlifting.
I'm tempted by the garmin Vivoactive HR. I'm also tempted by a higher-end Garmins like the 920XT "Triathlete" watch, but it's a complex beast and pricy.
Currently, I use a Wahoo fitness HR chest strap which talks to my phone. The good side is that its highly accurate and you get advance statistics when cycling or running, the down side is that you have to put it on and start the app. The battery life is amazing, some fraction of a year under normal use.0
