Hi, I am a nurse's aide and I generally reach 10,000 steps per shift. Does this count for exercise or just my general activity level?

No. Work isn't exercise it should be reflected in your activity level. If you have your activity too low bump it up for your more active job.

Whether you count it as your activity level (as MFP suggests / is built for) or as exercise, you're still supposed to eat the calories involved. It's a matter of which way (of doing the math) is most convenient for you.

If you have a step tracker, which it sounds like you do because you know your steps, then you can prob sync it with MFP to automatically make any needed calorie adjustment.

    This^

Syncing a tracker compares your actual activity to your stated activity and gives you credit for the difference.
