trying to be healthy while grieving

I take care of my mom full time. She has ALS and is very close to the end. If anyone would like info on ALS I would be glad to talk about it since there is little awareness about this disease. Anyway, the stress is CRAZY and CONSTANT. I also stay with her overnights and always get broken sleep. Keeping up my energy is hard but I am managing, I am getting nervous about her condition. I stopped taking care of myself for a while because of the stress. She is amazing and even though she is dying all she wants is to see me get healthy and feel happy. That would make her feel so great too. I really want to keep this up and share my transformation with her.

It is difficult because even with exercise I am not seeing great results ( I think its the stress and lack of sleep). How have others kept going during a difficult time? I need to keep my mind straight and I don't want to throw away all my hard work once she passes (she would hate that too! She is an RN and is into health/fitness). My only free time is spent at the gym and I enjoy it, just sometimes I am afraid to leave her or feel guilty. Also-any vitamins or supplements that help with energy? Not talking about 5hr energy or anything like that lol

    Kathe,

You are in a very difficult place right know for all the right reasons. You learned to be a caregiver by watching your mom care for others. I learned also from watching my mom care for others and I was the caregiver for my Father n law when he had late stage lung cancer. Please add me as a friend. It would be nice for you to start a blog to teach others about this journey. Add me if you start one.

I will PM you also with additional information NOT SPAM.

God Bless you, Listen to positive music, cry when you need to, walk when you can.
