I know this is probably a stupid question but does anyone have any tips for getting good calories in between meals at work? thanks

Do you mean snacks at work?
How about more of whatever you had for lunch, nuts, hard boiled eggs, cheese sticks, egg muffins, popcorn, protein bars, apples, bananas, . . .2 -
If you're trying to lose weight, perhaps try not snacking and just eat when it fits your schedule?2

I'm with this.
I've made a purposeful decision of not planning to snack at all. Eat all the calories at meal time (drink only water or black unsweetened tea between meals). I'm sure I can save up appetite for the next meal without issue (it's only going to be a few hours).
By not having snacks, my insulin gets a chance to drop lower/more normal level for longer. By continuing this regime I should be able to restore/maintain my body's insulin sensitivity (ie. avoid type 2 diabetes).
This also allows me slightly larger portions of good food prepared at meal times rather than trying to pre-prepare and tote around healthy snacks (most ready to purchase "snack" food sold is full of processed carbs and probably best avoided).
So far this has been working for me (11 lbs down in 5 weeks) and feels sustainable.

I don't snack when I am losing weight. I like filling meals so I do better eating more less often.
If you like to snack its just like anything else, be prepared. Pack healthy snacks you can have on hand and it will keep you from having to drop into a convenience store or something. String cheese, nuts, fruit, granola bars, cheese and crackers or pb crackers are all decent options depending on your calorie allowance.1 -
Guess I'm the odd one out. I like snacks. I eat lunch around noon and dinner at 6-7, I think that's too long to go without eating! I bring beef jerky, apples, cheese and crackers, veggies and dip... To work.
Lately I've been making smoothies with spinach added in after work for my toddler who will not eat vegetables, and I've been having a glass of that. Not exactly work friendly though0 -

Do you have access to refrigeration at work?
I work from home now but when I worked in an office I kept baby carrots and cheese in the frig and nuts in my desk. Hard boiled eggs still in their shell can go some time without refrigeration. The CDC recommends no more than two hours, but I and former coworkers (at a different job with no refrigeration) regularly ate hard boiled eggs that were unrefrigerated for a few days with no ill effects.0
