    It's weird, but when I run, I like listening to a podcast. The rythem of music interferes with my natural cadence. Also, a compelling podcast gets my mind off the pain.

    I have a station on my Pandora that is titled "Staind" radio. Every song that comes on just pushes me harder and harder. Most of it is Alternative Rock, but no real whiny stuff.

    I've been listening to audio books during my workout.

    This way I can focus on what the book is saying which makes me not care about how long I stay at the gym.
