Inches vs Weight

Hi Guys
Ive been looking after my diet well since January - calorie intake of around 2250 per day, averaging 3 x 1 hour high level MMA training, 1 x HIT Cardio (30 mins), 1 x HIT Weight Circuit (40 mins). 1 x Yoga Session (1 hour)
(alleviating calorie intake on days that i excersise)
Im losing inches fast - but weight is going down... very very very slowly - we're talking 1lb every two weeks on average. This has been going on for about 3 months now - can anyone shed a bit of light? should i take down my calorie count? is this normal? just a bit of advice would be great.
Diet consists of
Brown rice, lots of good salads, lots of good protein, very little sugar - Im a good chef so i understand the good habits needed.
I also sometimes have to eat quite late, could this also have an affect?

Personally I wouldn't care if my weight went up if I was losing inches. If you are losing weight that slowly you may be putting on muscle because you are almost certainly overeating at times while under-eating at others.
You're getting smaller and more fit. Sounds like a good deal to me.0 -
Thing is, i was told that in calorific deficit ... i won't be putting muscle on...0

it may be that you're not in a true calorie deficit, or not much of one, and you're recomping?1

That's mostly true. You may add a little, but my point is that if you are losing only .5 lb per week on average you aren't eating much of a deficit. And quite likely you are sometimes eating a surplus and sometimes eating a deficit while averaging out to a small deficit overall. You can indeed add muscle in this manner. More slowly than if you had a larger surplus, but you can still gain muscle.0 -
Thankyou! would you say that this way is probably the best way to get lean muscle? (thats actually what I'm aiming for)0

Another possibility is that you are losing inches in some places while gaining them in others. For example, you could be losing fat and water in your waist, which is very noticeable, while your arms, legs, back or other are holding water for recovery. Water is pretty similar in weight to fat.0
