Hi there
Thought I would introduce myself. I am 5' 9 and at the start of this week, I weighed 17st 13lb (251 lbs). I have taken some pics for the start of my journey and I have been absolutely blown away with the success stories board...
My motivation for being here??? There are a number of reasons but the main one is that I want to be around for my children and family for as long as I can. I also want to do something which I have never dreamt of doing and that is being comfortable to take my top off at the beach or in the park when the weather is hot!
I have always struggled with my weight, however, I have been heavier than this (18st 8 lbs) (260 lbs) and got down to 15st 10lbs. I have really set my mind on doing this and I have set myself my first goal towards my overall goal of getting below 200lbs. My 1st goal is to lose 28lbs over the next 13 weeks. That should pretty much get me back to where I was at my lightest.
I think I have a good understanding of the food side of things but what I am doing this time is cutting out bread and pasta. I am also trying to cut out skimmed milk. From logging, I am getting still around 100g of carbs per day and I have a fairly sedentary lifestyle whilst working (desk job).
As far as exercising goes, I have been doing some walking - I don't really struggle to exercise (other than time - which is due to long working hours and spending time I have with children.) I am currently looking into seeing what I can do at home- free weights, body weight type exercises. I really struggle to run because it hurts my shins - so walking for 1hr + at a brisk pace is good for me but I know I need to up this.
Anyway, just thought I would say hi and I look forward to the journey ahead!
